Pixel View Tv Tuner Card Driver
So, in October 2010 we officially cut the cable cord and dumped Time Warner cable in favor of using Netflix, the Internet, and over-the-air broadcast television as our sources for TV and films. We had been (semi) loyal Time Warner customers for more than 10 years. I say "semi" because we have had our shares of pitched battles, hurt feelings, threatened lawsuits, and periods of making up and playing nice. Time Warner cable has a laundry list of problems with its product and its customer service.
I understand that all companies have their flaws; it is just the nature of doing business. One of the main problems (aside from the instance where wire-burying reps of Time Warner severed our AT&T phone line), is the fact that the prices for cable service are exorbitant. We are certainly partially to blame for that aspect—we insisted on having every channel offered by Time Warner (with the exception of the Spanish-language channels, such as Univision, Telemundo, and so on) as well as most of the sports packages such as MLB Extra Innings and the NHL Center Ice packages.
Cable TV Expenses
Our monthly tally, including a sports package plus Internet, was more than $200 per month! To quote Homer Simpson, “D’oh!” And a lot of dough it was. So in our effort to become better at budgeting and reducing our debt, we started eyeballing the channel line-up. First to get the axe were the sports packages followed by the premium movie channels such as HBO, Cinemax and Showtime. That didn’t reduce our bill enough. Next, we started scaling back on the HDTV channels including FOX News HD and The Weather Channel HD. Do we need to see the news in high definition? No. Eventually, we came to the conclusion that we really didn’t need anything from Time Warner but the Internet as most of the first-run shows being broadcast on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX could be viewed via the computer (and we were keeping Road Runner, Time Warner’s Internet service).
